2000 rpms my truck backfires any suggestions

Backfiring in the exhaust is excess fuel being ignited in the exhaust system not in the engine, back firing in the intake is caused by a lean mixture or vacuum leak. Its hard to comment without being able to drive your car and experience the problem first hand.
