1990 Audi V8 Quattro Question: antifreeze

my antifreeze will not hold...it is either leaking really bad somewhere or it is evaporating quickly.. got really hot yesterday have not driven it yet... needs more antifreeze.. also brake lights dont work.. i checked bulbs they are fine.. the center brake light works but the the left and right brake lights do not work.

    I would focus on the coolant loss first. Engine Coolant doesn't evaporate, so you are looking at an internal or external coolant leak. Do you see coolant leaking onto the ground? If the engine is overheating then that will cause the coolant to boil over and leak out of the coolant cap.
    Don't let the engine overheat, this will damage the engine! Get it checked out and fix the cause of the overheating and/or the coolant leak. Then have an electrical diagnosis of the brake light system performed.

    check the brake light switch on the pedal, the coolant may be leaking and if is consuming it you may need a new head gasket
