Dodge Grand Caravan Problems

Airbag Light Due to Failed Clockspring on Dodge Grand Caravan

Problem Description and Possible Solution

Illuminated of the airbag warning light may be caused by a lost connection between the clockspring (behind the steering wheel) and the steering wheel-mounted electrical components. Other steering wheel-mounted controls like the horn, speed (cruise) control, or radio controls (if equipped) may be inoperative. There is a lifetime warranty on the clockspring as specified in a combination of recall campaigns. Air bag light comes on sometimes .....most of the time when I'm driving and hit a bump then it eventually turns off .... I was told it would be 400 to fix
While driving the airbag light will come on and turn off repeatedly. Does not consistently happen. When this does happen the abs and brake light for the emergency brake will turn on and turn off repeatedly as well. This has also affected the horn and windshield wipers during that timeframe.
This happened several years ago on my car. I found an article of a piece you can replace that's above the pedals, I think. (I didn't go buy it :( abd Notre I can't find the article) Anyone know that piece? It's $10, I believe. Every great once in a while, my horn will work. I'd love my cruise back.
Air bag light started dinging-then the horn and cruise control stopped working. It was the clockspring recall-the service manager did not like the fact I knew what is was because of this site when I set up the appt.-It was fixed for free.THANK YOU!
Just bought this van, used, not registered in a couple years. Now I can't register it without a working horn...ggggrrrr
just bought the van in October 2014 and the horn or cruise control would not work and the airbag light is always on....looked up any recalls and the clockspring is the problem....getting it fixed as soon as i fix another problem i have with transmission fluid leaking bad.
