What is your question?
I had the A/C fixed in this van 2 years ago, at a whopping $900. It is again not working and I don't want to spend another $900. I have checked the refrigerant and it is up to pressure. The clutch on the compressor appears to engage. I remember reading somewhere that there is a valve or something behind the dash that could possibly be stuck. Is this a common problem, and if so, could I fix it fairly easily?

James, The problem is probably your expansion valve is stopped up or stuck shut. You can fix this yourself if you have the means to pull a vacuum on the system as your gonna have to lose or recover the freon. As you may know, R134a is environmental friendly so you can just crack a valve to lose it if you don't know anyone with a recovery machine. The valve in question is on the outside firewall on the passenger side behind where the inline dryer sits. There is also a temp probe attached so be careful with it as you change it. After changing it pull a vacuum to -28 to -30psi and recharge with 4oz of oil and finish with freon to the specs on the ac sticker(should be on firewall or front crossplate tag). That should take care of it and your cost should be very minimal if you can do it yourself as the valve is around 20 bucks. Hope this helps.
