A/c issues

(1990 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL)
in Indio, CA on June 03, 2011
My a/c will not come on. But I do have hot air being put through no matter if the a/c is off or on. I have changed all the fuses. I hear something kick on under the hood when I turn it on but its not coming out cold or with any force.

whenever there is a climate control "issue", default is always to give you heat. the first thing to check is the heater valve, which MB calls the mono valve. if you are
not familiar with this system or don't know how to check
the operation of the mono valve, it's better to get it checked by a local MB specialist. if this is the problem, you do not have to buy the whole valve, there is a repair
kit available.
