Should my A/C compressor be seizing every 16 - 24 months? It has seized every 2 years or less since we bought the vehicle in Nov. 2002. I understand that metal fragments get thrown through the system, causing the entire system (including rear air) to be cleaned out. do you know why this might be happening?
If you haven't removed the metal fragments in the system, this will continue. I would also make sure that the system is not being overcharged, and that the pressure is not going to high in the system.
What are the symptoms when the compressor fails?

To "answer #1" thanks for the response. Symptoms are the compressor siezes up (clutch pully will not turn when AC is on), each time.
