95 nissan hardbody replaced starter but won't start

What is your question?

I have a 95 nissan hardbody would not start...randomly, whether cold or warm start. When I turned the key on all lights were on dash but no clicking sound. Battery fine. Replaced starter (generic from O'Reillys). It started for a few seconds, then died. Also clutch pedal did not depress. NOW WHAT?

What makes this problem better or worse?

it is hit or miss before i replaced the starter
