What is your question?
I want to start the car with the combustion engine only. The only way I been told is to start the car ( E Mode) get out of the car and open the hood. This supposedly activates a Maintenance Mode. The engine starts and you get back in the car..........sounds crazy if that's the only way?? Thanks

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Getting your Panamera E-Hybrid to fire up the combustion engine without playing a game of "in and out of the car" does sound like a bit of a chore. Unfortunately, Porsche's hybrid system isn't exactly designed for easy manual switching between electric and combustion modes. They really want you to enjoy that electric efficiency! The process you've described is indeed one way to enter a maintenance mode, but it's not the most practical for everyday use. Another way to trigger the combustion engine is to switch to "Sport" or "Sport Plus" mode if your model has those options. This usually forces the engine to start since these modes prioritize performance over efficiency. Otherwise, there's no simple button to just start the combustion engine only. Porsche wants you to leave the high-tech dance of the hybrid system to its own rhythm. Remember, going against Porsche's recommended starting procedure may void a warranty or cause unnecessary wear on the the engine! Best to check on that stuff before you switch up your routine!
