Shop guy added too much oil, the car was smoking (white) from the exhaust. Now he said the valves are wet. Could this be from the extra oil?

Drain the excess oil and drive the vehicle. White smoke is typically coolant or water based smoke, but if it is more blue-ish, it could be engine oil.
