What is your question?
Got a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L V8 Sport. Drove 20 minutes fine after fixed a bad tire. Stopped and put the other front tire the same size as the other front one, which were smaller than the back two, started to drive down the road and the truck just rev when pressing the gas, it would shift in and out of gears but not move anywhere. When I looked at the computer I got codes P1740 and P0500. I have gotten the speed sensor to put in, the torque converter solenoid, governor pressure solenoid and sensor. Afraid this may not fix the problem, can’t seem to find any familiar articles on this problem. Any steps in the right direction would be amazing.
What makes this problem better or worse?
When the engine is cold and just start it will drive for a minute before it starts reving and slipping in transmission
How long has your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 had this problem?
Just started

Hello, to me, it's suspect that you have different size tires on the vehicle. This vehicle, the wheel speed sensors, vehicle speed sensor and automatic transmission were never made for differing tire sizes to be on the truck at the same time. Conflicting data about wheel speed and vehicle speed can cause all kinds of problems. All that said, a P1740 code is a code related to the torque converter clutch. You could have a TCC solenoid issue, a 3-4 solenoid issue, dirty fluid, and a bunch of other possible causes. Regardless, I would first restore the vehicle to factory wheel size and clear codes, road testing to see what returns.
Hi, thanks for the reply! The two smaller tires in the front were only on for a short period, had a bad rim in the front. I switched the tires over to the new rims, made the tires all the right size, I couldn’t clear the codes, wouldn’t let me. I have gotten the things to try the TCC and some sensor.
This concern would seem to require additional testing before replacing parts. Guessing at parts without testing is often a futile exercise.
