I will turn the ignition on and the engine instantly acts like it will start, and then it dies. After many attempts, it usually will turn over and run. While car is on, it runs normally.

if light is on and youve dont other checks etc will codes egr and tps are hard to diagnose but never forgotten about here, its almost either or between the two if you catch a problem soon enough
