Geo Prizm Problems

Worn Shift Bushings Will Cause Manual Transmission to Pop Out of Gear on Geo Prizm

Problem Description and Possible Solution

On vehicles with a manual transmission, worn shift bushings can cause the transmission to pop out of gear, especially when coasting down in 1st or 2nd gear. Replacing all the shift linkage bushings is pretty straight forward and not expensive and will commonly correct this concern.

my manual transmission is popping out of 4 & 5 gears. I would like to have information on how to replace the bushings on the shifting leakage. I want to attempt to do this labor myself. A step by step explanation would be real nice if possible
Manual Transmission gear will not shift to 3rd will pop out and sometimes will not sync with 4th gear so I have to down shift with clutch engaged then it will sync to 4th gear. What is the solution. Car still runs great.
