Problem overview

Some Dodge Journey owners report experiencing issues related to the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) module recall, which can impact key functionality and vehicle safety. These owners have noted that the defect in the WIN module may compromise the airbag system, potentially leading to the loss of airbag or Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) function during a crash. Additionally, some owners have been advised to remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key, until the recall is addressed. There are also reports of unintentional movement of the Frequency Operated Button Ignition Key (FOBIK) from the "ON" to the "Accessory" position while driving, which can result in unintended engine shut off and increase the risk of a crash. It is essential for affected owners to have the WIN module and FOBIK replaced promptly to ensure the safety of the vehicle and its occupants.
