Chevrolet Blazer Problems

Transmission Output Seal May Leak Fluid on Chevrolet Blazer

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The transmission output shaft seal may leak transmission fluid. On 2WD models, this leak can cause the transmission mount to become oil soaked, which will require replacement of the mount along with the leak repair. On 4WD models, if this seal leaks, the fluid will leak into the transfer case, causing it to become overfull.

Trans leaked fluid out into transfer case-which pumped it out of vent tube on top of trans and gave appearance of trans line leak-found transfer case 3 quarts overfull-drained & refilled trans & problem re occured----(bought blazer used) replace output shaft seal and appears to have fixed problem
There is trans fluid leaking out of the seal from the transfer case. Im not sure if its the over feeling of the tranny due to the seal, or if the seal is just bad on the transfer case.
Auto tranny pumping ATF into the transfer case.I lost two quarts and the Transfer case was two quarts overfill. Trying a conditioner to soften the seal. No Luck! Will call a tranny place tomorrow to see what the cost is. Vehicle may not be worth it! ROD
