I am having similar problems. Today, when I shift it to drive, it will not engage until I step on the gas. The stop engine light was on for a while and it would delay downshifting until about 3/mph, causing a jerk when trying to stop. I can handle that part. The fluid level is good. No leaks. Does this mean that it is time to "PAY". I would rather just get another vehicle, than pay that kind of cash. Love my Van. Infact, I don't even think I paid that much for the van. Is it possible that it is just too cold..... -20 with windchill last couple of days.
my transmission works fine in the warm months. after thr weather gets cold it doesnt like to go into drive gear unless i rev the engine. bought the 2003 town and country in arizona in 2012. moved back to the east coast and every year when the weather starts getting cold the transmission starts it stuff. does any know why?
I have a similar problem and it started in December. When I first start it and the car is cold it doesn't want to stay in first or reverse and only gets going when I really step on the gas. How much would it cost to rebuild the transmission and is it even worth it.
Intermittent problem where after startup, van will not shift from park to reverse or drive. Turn off and on the van will fix the problem.
My 2002 Chrysler T&C will not move in 1st gear or reverse if you press the gas pedal too hard, you have to press it very gently so it wont slip. It also will not move from a stand still on a grade, it just sits there with the engine reving. I have been told that my transmission is shot.
