Southeast toyota distributors, llc (set) is recalling certain 2011-2016 toyota tacoma and 4runner vehicles equipped with accessory hood scoops installed by set or set dealers. the adhesive attaching the hood scoop may weaken, allowing the hood scoop to detach from the vehicle.

For vehicles equipped with an add on accessory hood scoop, the adhesive securing the hood scoop to the hood may fail, resulting in the scoop detaching from the vehicle. This could lead to a crash.

Recall repairs on your Toyota must be performed by a Toyota dealership. Southeastern Toyota Distributors will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Toyota dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Toyota recall number is SET17B.

The fasteners supplied with the add on roof rack for vehicles equipped with the TFORCE accessory package may not have been tightened properly. This could result in the roof rack loosening and possibly detaching from the vehicle, resulting in a possible accident.

The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling. As a result, the inflator may rupture on deployment, which can send metal shrapnel through the air bag, striking vehicle occupants. This could result in serious injury or death.

Recall repairs on your Toyota or Lexus or Pontiac must be performed by a Toyota, Lexus or General Motors (for Pontiac models) dealership, respectively.
