29 Error Codes. Took five months to get check engine light to remain off and pass emissions test required by North Carolina.
Replaced all four O2 sensors, catalytic converter, various relays and finally after receiving only eight error codes it went off on its own after about three weeks. Nothing else was done after the last check that had eight error codes except conducting diagnostics repeatedly over the three week period. Now at 111,000 it's showing errors again. Replaced O2 Sensors and still getting error codes. Dealer service department said they could change out the PCM but couldn't promise it will help.
I had this issue and freaked out. There can be multiple reason why your engine will come on And the rear wing will display as malfunctioning. If the problem is like mine, u have an easy fix! Answer: BUY NEW TIRES!!!!!! Sounds crazy right, well your tires have sensors and it is connectioned to your speed sensor and rear wing. When ur tires are bad or tread wears to car dissatisfaction, engine light appears, rear wing stays extended with flashing lights etc. I have found it to be a safety feature. NOW.. Once u change the tires... Crank ur car and turn the wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right, about 3-4times (This rests the computer). Now, turn off the car and pull the key out. Insert key and start engine. Then take car for a short driven down the road and the sensor will reread and check engine light offfff. Wing diaplay light should stop blinking... Now press button to contract the wing.. Ur alll SET! You're welcum.. Now go joy riding! FYI 2014 Mini Cooper S will win Ur Heart.. Mini owner for life! Yes i still have my 04 Crossfire.
If this fix dont help u, u hav another serious problem.. Save money and take ur baby to the hospital...if we fo cheap on our cars they will go cheap on US! Gentleman, start your engines and Lets Motor!
