The horizontal adjustment for the headlights may be accessible when it should be sealed off. This could allow the headlights to be adjusted improperly to a position that is improper, reducing driver visibility and possibly blinding oncoming traffic.

Recall repairs on your Smart vehicle must be performed by a Smart dealership. Mercedes Benz USA will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Smart dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
