The vehicle stability control system (VSC) may malfunction due to interference from electromagnetic waves such as with a mobile phone. This can cause loss of vehicle control and allow the brake to operate unexpectedly, affecting steering and speed control, increasing the risk of an accident.

You must contact and visit a Lexus dealership to perform recall repairs on your Lexus vehicle. The schedule for Lexus to contact known owners of affected vehicles is during June, 1998. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Lexus dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. How long it takes to fix a recall depends on many different factors:

How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
