Brakes
FAILURE TO RELEASE THE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IN THE REARBRAKE LINES CAUSES THE REAR BRAKES TO "DRAG" AND A CONDITION WHERE ONLY THEFRONT BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED BY OPERATOR. THISRESULTS IN EARLY WEAR OF THE REAR BRAKE LINING, INCREASES OF STOPPING DISTANCES,AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT.
The rear brakes may drag and only front brakes apply when braking due to a software issue with the antilock brake and traction control system computer. This can cause early rear brake material wear, increased stopping distances and possible loss of vehicle control and an accident.
You must contact and visit a Lexus dealership to perform recall repairs on your Lexus vehicle. The schedule for Lexus to contact known owners of affected vehicles was during March, 1992.. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Lexus dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
