For vehicles equipped with a tow hitch wiring harness from the factory or as purchased from a Kia dealership as an accessory, the harness module printed circuit board (PCB) may develop an electrical short due to debris and moisture accumulation within it. This can result in a fire. Owners are advised to park outside and away from buildings until the recall remedy is administered..

You must contact and visit a Kia dealership to perform recall repairs on your Kia vehicle. The schedule for Kia to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during November, 2022. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Kia dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle.
