Incorrect detection of an occupant may result in improper air bag deployment during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The front passenger seat occupant classification system (OCS) sensor may not properly detect seat occupants due to a concern with interference between internal parts of the seat. If this occurs, the air bag may deploy unexpectedly and unintended resulting in injury.
