An exploding seat belt pretensioner can project metal fragments into the vehicle, striking vehicle occupants and resulting in injury.
The front driver's side or passenger side seat belt pretensioners may explode when deployed in a crash. This can cause metal fragment to be sprayed in the vehicle cabin, which can potentially injure occupants.
Recall repairs on your Kia must be performed by a Kia dealership. Kia will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August, 2022 If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Kia dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Kia recall number is SC241.
