Road debris may puncture the thin fuel tank wall, causing a gas leak and increasing the risk of a fire. In addition, the fuel tank may not perform as expected during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fuel tank of the vehicle may have been manufactured improperly to be too thin on the bottom wall. This can result in the fuel tank being punctured buy road debris or not performing as expected in an accident, causing a fuel leak and increasing risk of a fire.
Recall repairs on your Nissan must be performed by a Nissan dealership. Nissan will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in May, 2022. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Nissan dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Nissan recall number is PC887.
