Pedestrians may be unaware of an approaching vehicle if the PWS sounds are obscured, increasing the risk of a crash.
The "Boombox" function may obscure the pedestrian warning system (PWS) sounds that notify people when the vehicle is operating and approaching. This can lead to an accident and injury. An Over The Air (OTA) software update has been deployed to affected vehicles to resolve the concern.
