The piston oil rings of the engine may not have been properly heat treated. As a result, they can cause internal engine problems and cause an engine stall, increasing risk of a crash. Additionally, they can cause an oil leak onto hot exhaust components, increasing risk of a fire.

Recall repairs on your Kia must be performed by a Kia dealership. Kia will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2021. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Kia dealerships.
