The weakened rear rail assembly may allow the rear bumper beam to detach when the vehicle is being towed or the tow-bar assembly to detach when towing a trailer. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Vehicles that have received a replacement rear rail assembly as part of a service repair may have missing spot welds that can weaken the structural integrity of the rear rail assembly. This can allow the rear bumper beam to detach when the vehicle is been towed or cause the tow bar assembly to detach when towing a trailer increasing risk of a crash.
Recall repairs on your Jaguar must be performed by a Jaguar dealership. Jaguar will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in May, 2021. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Jaguar dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Jaguar recall number is H349.
