Over-cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The Continental CrossContact LX Sport 20 inch tires installed on some 2021 Pilot vehicles may have been cured for too long, causing a possible break in the sidewalk or belt separation which can result in loss of vehicle control and a crash.
Recall repairs on your Honda must be performed by a Honda dealership. Honda will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in January, 2021. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Honda dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Honda recall number is U8Y.
