An incorrectly installed air bag inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The passenger frontal air bag inflator that was replaced during a previous service recall may have been installed incorrectly. Dealers will inspect the air bag inflator installation and if necessary replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.
Recall repairs on your Honda or Acura must be performed by a Honda or Acura dealership, respectively. American Honda will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in late June, 2019. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Honda or Acura dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Honda recall designations are M4O, P4R, T4Q and W4P.
