The passenger side front seat and curtain shield air bags may not deploy as needed, or may deploy unintentionally due to incorrect welds inside the passenger front door. The welds can affect the air bag sensor readings for the affected air bags. Air bags that deploy when not expected or intended, or do not deploy when needed increase risk of occupant injury.
Recall repairs on your Toyota must be performed by a Toyota dealership. Toyota will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2019. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Toyota dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Toyota recall designations are K1G and K0G.
