Timing Belt Teeth Separate Causing Engine Stall

Recall Details

The teeth of the timing belt may separate from the belt causing the engine to lose proper timing, damaging the engine and causing it to stall. Dealers will inspect the vehicle for the concern and replace any affected timing belt as well as any compromised engine component free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The teeth of the timing belt may separate from the belt, causing the engine timing to become out of sync. This would cause the engine to become damaged and stall, and could result in an accident.
