Audio Unit Does Not Function Properly Causing Rear View Camera Display To Not Function

Recall Details

The audio display system may not initialize, resulting in the rear view camera not displaying an image as needed in the display. Dealers will reprogram the audio system display software free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

A concern with the audio unit not powering up properly will also result in the rear view camera not displaying as needed while backing up the vehicle. If the back up camera does not display when backing the vehicle, an accident may result.

As a result, the vehicles fail to comply with requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
Consequence
Failure to display the rearview image while backing up increases the risk of crash.
