Recall Details

The power steering pump may fail and seize. The manufacturer is currently developing a repair procedure (no repair procedure is available as of the time of this writing), and when available dealers will repair vehicles as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Suzuki must be performed by a Suzuki dealership. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Suzuki dealership repair facilities. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. Summary
Suzuki Motor America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2012-2013 Suzuki SX4 vehicles. The power steering pump may seize causing a loss of steering assist.
Consequence
A seizure of the power steering pump would cause a loss of power steering assist, requiring extra steering effort at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy
The remedy for this recall is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934.
