Recall 18V390000

Torque Converter Mounting Fails Causing Vehicle To Stop Moving

Recall Details

On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded. This would lead to the torque converter detaching from the engine flex plate, causing the vehicle to lose the ability to move. Dealers will replace the torque converter free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The mounting studs that secure the torque converter of the 6 speed automatic transmission to the 2.0L 4 cylinder engine may fail, resulting in the vehicle losing the ability to move. This could lead to an accident.
