Passenger Occupant Detection System Malfunctions Preventing Air Bag Deployment

Recall Details

The passenger occupant detection system control module may malfunction due to stress or wear of the body sensing mat located in the passenger front seat. This can cause the system to prevent deployment of the passenger frontal air bag as needed in an accident. Dealers will install a repair kit for the detection system free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The passenger occupant detection system control module may malfunction resulting in the passenger frontal air bag not deploying in an accident. This increases risk of occupant injury.
