Driver's Frontal Air Bag Does Not Deploy Properly In An Accident

Recall Details

The inflator for the driver's frontal air bag may have been improperly welded. In an accident, the inflator may crack and release the needed gas for deployment, reducing the air bag's protective benefit. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

A portion of the driver's frontal air bag called the inflator may not have been welded properly. As a result, the air bag may not deploy with the proper amount of needed pressure in an accident, increasing risk of occupant injury.
