Right Side Steering Tie Rod Separates While Driving

Recall Details

The right side tie rod lock nut may loosen while driving, allowing the tie rod to eventually separate from the steering linkage. Dealers will inspect the lock nut and if it is found to be loose will replace the lock nut, steering gear assembly and tie rod assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The right side tie rod of the steering system may detach from the remainder of the steering linkage unexpectedly while driving. This would result in loss of vehicle control and a possible accident.
