Recall 17V285000

Oil Leaks From Rear Differential Causing Rear Axle To Seize

Recall Details

The rear differential may leak where it meets the rear axle housing, which could result in the rear differential locking up. Dealers will inspect the rear differential for oil leakage, either tightening the fastening nuts, replacing the rear differential carrier gasket or replacing the rear differential carrier assembly as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The rear differential may leak oil where it is assembled to the rear axle housing. If all the oil leaks out, the differential may seize, resulting in a loss of vehicle control, which could cause an accident.
