Recall 16V545000

Trailer Hitch Not Securely Fastened To The Vehicle

Recall Details

The factory equipped trailer hitch may only be attached by one bolt per side instead of the needed three bolts per side. Dealers will install two additional fasteners per side free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The trailer hitch on factory equipped vehicles may be not be fastened with enough fasteners. This could cause the hitch to separate from the vehicle, resulting in a road hazard, as well as a trailer that is no longer hitched to the vehicle. This could result in a crash.

Chrysler will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is unavailable as of the time of this writing).
