Transmission Shift Lever Lock Malfunctions

Recall Details

The transmission shift lever may lock in the park or neutral position when the vehicle comes to a stop due to a electrical connection failure at the brake transmission shift lock solenoid. Dealers will replace the shift lever assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The locking mechanism that secures the transmission shift lever in park may malfunction and cause the shift lever to lock in the park or neutral position when the vehicle comes to a stop. The vehicle may become disabled in traffic as a result. This would increase risk of a crash.
