Pulley Bolt Fails Resulting In Loss Of Power Steering Assist

Recall Details

A bolt securing the front end auxiliary drive idler pulley on the engine may fail, resulting in the loss of steering assist. Dealers will replace the pulley assembly free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The idler pulley guides the belt that drives under hood accessories, such as the power steering pump. A bolt securing this pulley may fail, resulting in among other things the loss of power steering assist. This would cause difficulty steering the vehicle, and could result in an accident.
