A wiper motor that overheats increases the risk of a fire.
The windshield wiper motor may overheat and stop working, and cause a fire hazard. Dealers will replace the wiper motor cover assembly free of charge to resolve the concern. Owners are advised to not use the windshield wipers until the cover has been replaced.
Recalls on your General Motors must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
