A wiring problem with the fuel pump control system may shut down fuel flow to the engine, resulting in a stalled vehicle, as well as power steering and power braking system failure. Loss of engine power, braking and steering assist can result in an unsafe driving condition that could result in a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace wiring that controls the fuel pump to correct this concern.
This recall is expected to begin April 17, 2015, designated repairs will be performed free of charge. If you notice a problem with the vehicle hesitating or stalling or you don't receive notification in a timely manner and believe you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. Jaguar's number for this recall is J051.
The fuel pump shutdown will result in the vehicle stalling. The vehicle would also lose power-assisted braking and power-assisted steering. Any of these conditions may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
