In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's air bag, the incorrect part may block the flow of propellant to the air bag and the air bag's inflator may rupture. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike and potentially seriously injure the vehicle occupants.
In the affected vehicles the driver's front airbag may have been manufactured with and incorrect part. This part may block the flow of propellant when the airbag is deployed. This could cause the airbag to rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace the driver's front airbag to correct this concern.
Nissan will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles in late December of 2014. If you don't receive notification in a timely manner and believe you should have, please contact your Infiniti dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call.
