Suspension & Steering
If the front coil spring fractures due to corrosion it could cause the coil spring to make contact with the tire, possibly puncturing the tire and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The front coil springs may corrode and break, which can result in front tire damage and loss of vehicle control. This is most likely in areas where road salt is used. Dealers will inspect and replace affected coil springs as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.
Hyundai notified owners of affected vehicles starting in September 2014. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The Hyundai recall number is 124.
