The windshield defrosting system may not work as expected due to lack of coolant flow through the heater core.
Chrysler will notifying owners of affected vehicles during June 2013. If you experience problems with the vehicle heating or windshield defrost system, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have please contact your dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N25.
Coolant flow through the heater core provides heat to the interior of the vehicle when necessary. This heat helps the windshield defrosting system keep the windshield free of excess moisture and ice. A buildup of moisture or ice could limit visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. These vehicles are being recalled because the coolant bypass valve may stick in a position that does not allow coolant to flow into the heater core. Dealers will replace the suspect coolant valve and update the vehicle calibrations to correct this concern.
