13V-120 / N17 Recall Summary

On these vehicles, the fuel tank is divided into two sections. A system using a transfer tube is used to move fuel from the secondary side to the primary side where the fuel pump is located. This transfer tube may have been improperly manufactured causing the transfer of fuel to be interrupted. If this condition causes the primary side of the fuel tank to run dry the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel tank transfer tube in affected vehicles to correct this concern.

Chrysler will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles during May 2013. There may be not symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive recall notification after the notification date, please contact your dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N17.

How long it takes to fix a recall depends on many different factors:

How many vehicles are affected by the recall? How complex is the problem to fix? How many different parts are involved in the repair? Are the repair parts available? Has the dealership received the parts for the repair yet? Do dealership technicians have training to conduct the specific repair? How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you. Even if your vehicle's warranty has expired and you are not the original owner of the vehicle, you are still eligible to have any open safety recalls on your vehicle repaired.
