SHOULD THE SUNROOFS GLASS BREAK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN USE, THE FALLING GLASS COULD CUT AND INJURE THE DRIVER OR PASSENGERS. IT COULD ALSO DISTRACT THE DRIVER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Vehicles equipped with a sunroof may have a front sunroof glass panel that could break unexpectedly in extremely cold weather/temperature conditions. Should the sunroof glass break while the vehicle is in use, the falling glass could cut and injure the driver or passengers. It could also distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the front sunroof glass panel to correct this concern. The Volkswagen recall number is 60B2/L3.
Volkswagen/Audi will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning August 7, 2012. There are no symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
