Suspension & Steering
AS THE CIRCUIT BOARD FAILS, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FEATURE WILL STOP FUNCTIONING, INCREASING THE FORCE NEEDED TO STEER THE VEHICLE AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The circuit board in the electric power steering assist control unit may have been installed incorrectly. This can cause a solder joint to fail, resulting in failure of the circuit board. If the circuit board fails, power steering assist will be lost, increasing the force needed to steer the vehicle, which can lead to a crash. Dealers will replace the electric power steering control module to correct this concern.
Nissan will notify owners of affected vehicles during December, 2011. If you are experiencing problems with the electric power steering, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
