INADEQUATE LIGHTING COULD REDUCE VISIBILITY OF VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
U.S. Drive Right is recalling 897 imported Jeep Cherokee vehicles because they were sold without the required third (center mounted) brake light. This could result in reduced visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Vehicle owners should receive a third brake light and installation kit in the mail, along with instructions to have the vehicle repaired by a qualified mechanic of their choice, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin by June 11, 2011.
This could be considered a low priority recall, changing to high if your vehicle does not have a third brake light. If you have any questions, please contact U.S. Drive Right (1-888-632-5936). They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
